About the Club

A nonprofit program for Alameda basketball families.

The Vipers help young athletes develop their skills, compete with confidence, and understand the responsibility of being part of a team.

Who We Are

Founded in Alameda in 2010.

The Alameda Vipers Basketball Club is based in the City of Alameda in Alameda County, California. The club is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is affiliated with the National Amateur Athletic Union, Team U.S.A. Youth Development, and the Jr. NBA.

Vipers teams operate year-round across Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, with opportunities depending on roster needs, gym availability, and coach availability.

The Vipers Way

Development, preparation, and teamwork.

Players are expected to grow in individual skills, mental preparedness, coachability, conditioning, and commitment to team basketball.

Practice

Teams generally practice about 2.5 to 3 hours per week, with training added after the team is established when schedules and gyms allow.

Commitment

Player and parent commitment to practices, games, communication, and club expectations is important to every team.

Player Path

Vipers alumni have continued to area high schools and college programs, carrying the habits they built through the club.

Coaches

Led by adults who care about the whole player.

The club seeks qualified coaches with AAU, college, or professional playing experience. Background checks are required for coaches and assistant coaches.

Good coaching keeps the program focused on fundamentals, accountability, sportsmanship, and the confidence young athletes need on and off the court.
